The Glorified Goodies Story
Do you have some time? How about seven years? That's the time it took for Glorified Goodies to shape their business/ministry concept. Glorified Goodies began in Springfield, MO in 2006 and is now out of the Pacific Northwest (Vancouver, Washington to be specific). Ricky and Karrie Keehart felt called to start a blessings ministry. What have we learned over the years? When God gives you a glimpse of a calling, it is best not to get preconceived notions of how it will play out. At the start of our idea, we didn't quite know how to think outside the box. Our ideas had limits of what was humanly possible and our ideas came wrapped in neatness. Good thing we serve a God with no limits. The last seven years have been anything but neat. After an economic setback, health issues, a rather quick decision to move from our home (and everything we've ever known) in the Midwest to the other side of the country, and utter moments of despair; we were left wondering if we heard His promise correctly. Little did we know, the next five years would be full of ways we could testify of God's faithfulness in our lives. Going from being able to pay your bills a few months ahead of time to moments of gathering change to just fill the gas tank to look for employment, it seemed the lesson was in trusting God with our basic needs. We were wrong, it became much more than that to a lesson in trusting God with our lives and our hearts.
The story of Glorified Goodies? What we initially thought would be a non-profit blessing ministry, became a way of life which leads us to now. You see, a ministry isn't confined to buildings or a 501(c)(3). It's a way to live your life. Glorified Goodies is anything good (whether you can hold it in your hand or hold it in your heart) that brings glory to our God. Our goal is to use every bit of talent, wisdom, and gifts that God has graciously given to us to advance His Kingdom and share His love with others. Some of the things that many would quickly discard as a non-asset, like being able to feed a crowd inexpensively and on short notice, God wants you to know these are talents and gifts we can use to serve Him right where we are at. The place we would like to start is here. The gift we want to share is joy. On this website you will find stories prompted by the Word of God that will encourage you. You will find ideas of how to bless and encourage others (it would be our hope that you make our ideas better by expanding them with your own ideas). Because cooking and party throwing has been our way of bringing others together, you will find ideas of ways to encourage fellowship (with a menu). Trickle up economics is our way and it starts with you. Never underestimate how unique and vital you are to God. When our lives look like we have nothing of significance to offer God that's when it gets good, real good. Good because then you let God take it and turn it into something amazing for His Glory.
