Personality Gift Bin

Picture
In our house, we celebrate everything we can!  After years of being able to afford elaborate birthday celebrations, we could no longer do that anymore.  Our personal financial crisis forced us to be more creative on a dime.  I came up with this Personality Gift Bucket idea.  White paper lunch sacks can become your best friend.  You can buy the sacks at any store, in large quantities, and for just about $2.  I use them for everything gift related.  In the personality gift bucket, we purchased inexpensive gifts and put them in the bag (some we had to put two bags together due to the height of a gift), hole punched the tops and added curling ribbon to keep bags closed and give it a finished present-y look.  In case you don't know me and in case you haven't gotten it by now...I'm in love with curling ribbon (6-inch ribbon curls are NOT impossible :) We wrote a trait to describe our son (some funny, some seriously sweet) on the outside of the bag that corresponded with the gift inside.

For example:
Mad Lib=witty
Whoopee cushion and fart putty=gassy
Our son's favorite candy bar=sweet
A giant robotic arm with closeable hand claw=handy
A charm with the words "son" and a definition=best son ever
A book=well read
The possibilities are endless and we didn't spend over $10 on this project.  This bin was used for a birthday party for an 11 year old boy.  In the photo below, we served Brownie Bricks.  I love the red and blue contrast.  It would fit well for a boy's or girl's themed party.
